This summer, Wines of Germany teamed up with German Gymnasium in King’s Cross, London, to launch a range of contemporary wine picnics. Londoners enjoyed the hampers in the best urban outdoor locations, from nearby Granary Square to Regent’s Park, or indulge on the Grade II listed restaurant’s own terrace, from 5th June until 10th September.
Adding to the urban vibes, each picnic was served in a modern steel hamper complete with wayfarer-style sunglasses for two. With three varieties to choose from, each was designed to highlight a different German wine, available to order by the bottle or the glass.
To accompany the chosen wine, each picnic hamper contained an assortment of German delicacies created by Executive Chef, Bjoern Wassmuth. Think three varieties of Bavarian Giga rolls, Nussecken (a buttery shortbread) and Niederegger Lubecker Taler (marzipan treats in Pineapple, Cherry, Strawberry and Nut flavours).
