The Top 50 Wines of Germany

On Tuesday 14th March, five key members of the UK wine trade met at The Sampler in South Kensington to seek out this year’s Top 50 wines, whittling down hundreds of entries. Wines of Germany selected a panel of experts who tasted through each wine blind; this year’s panel includes: Roger Jones (Owner, Harrow at Little Bedwyn), James Comyn (Trade Sales Director, Howard Ripley), Christina Schneider (Sommelier, Somsaa Restaurant), Jane Parkinson (Freelance wine writer and TV personality) and Beth Willard (Buyer, Direct Wines).

Top 50 aims to place the best wines of Germany in front of UK consumers and members of the trade and press inspiring the nation to discover what Germany has to offer today. The competition allows wineries from all over Germany, including those who are currently still seeking UK representation, to enter their wines.

The wines will be presented for the first time at the Wines of Germany trade tasting G String on 9th May 2017.
