For the twelfth year in a row, summer was all about German Riesling as July saw the return of 31 Days of German Riesling! Over 125 sites across the country signed up to celebrate Germany’s star variety, and Wines of Germany UK was blown away by all the creative ways participants spread the love for German Riesling again this year, from #freetastefridays, ‘meet the winemaker’ features, in-store promotions, YouTube videos and social media campaigns.

Standards were very high and after reviewing participants’ campaigns, an overall winner was declared; neighbourhood restaurant and wine shop Fourth and Church in Hove, specialising in seasonal dishes, small plates with an exceptional range of German Rieslings.  A second-time winner, Fourth and Church had over 38 German Rieslings to try and featured daily specials alongside two Riesling food and wine matching events for customers.

This year’s runner up is Reserve Wines who held weekly samplings, as well as a wine flight, to get the German Riesling flowing. With five stores around the Manchester area, all with knowledgeable staff who will help you discover something new from Germany!
