July is always a special month for German wine lovers in the UK, and 2026 was no exception. For the fifteenth consecutive year, 31 Days of German Wine brought together wine merchants, restaurants and bars across the country to celebrate the quality, diversity and sheer drinkability of German wines. From launch parties and tasting events to food pairings and masterclasses, 140 venues took part, making it one of the UK’s biggest country wine promotions.
This year’s campaign saw an incredible display of creativity and enthusiasm, with businesses finding new and engaging ways to introduce customers to German wine. After reviewing entries from across the UK, we’re delighted to announce our 2026 winners.
Winner: Le Vignoble, Bristol & Plymouth
Taking the top spot this year is Le Vignoble. With locations in Bristol and Plymouth, it is this year’s destination for German wine love in the South West!
“What a pleasure it’s been to showcase the range and depth of German wines. We champion German wines all year round, but it’s been a real treat to be able to extend our range over July.”
First Runner-Up: The Grape Escape, Cheltenham
Cheltenham’s The Grape Escape secured second place and said:
“We love 31 Days of German Wine because, even though we support German wine all year round, having a specific month dedicated to it gives us a laser-sharp focus, just like a great German Riesling!”
Second Runner-Up: Fourth & Church, Hove
The final podium position goes to Fourth & Church in Hove.
“July is one of our favourite months at Fourth and Church. We had an amazing time celebrating German wine and ploughed through an absurd quantity of it over the month!”
From crisp Riesling and elegant Pinot Noir to exciting new discoveries from Germany’s wine regions, this year’s campaign once again demonstrated why German wine continues to win over more UK drinkers every year.
