Well done to our friend Matt Walls who won the coveted title of IWSC Blogger of the Year award at last week’s ceremonies for his work on http://www.mattwalls.co.uk.
Matt started his career at St Martin Vintners, a small independent merchant in Brighton. After a number of years with Bollinger Champagne as Fine Wines Manager, he set up, managed and helped buy the wines for the flagship store of The Sampler. He holds the WSET Diploma (with Moët et Chandon Scholarship) and is a judge for the International Wine & Spirit Competition, the International Wine Challenge and Decanter. His first book Drink Me! How to choose, taste and enjoy wine was published in May 2012 by Quadrille.
He is currently working as a freelance writer and wine consultant. Regular writing includes www.timatkin.com and Living France. He writes on a freelance basis for other publications such as Harpers Wine & Spirit, Decanter, Imbibe and Tonique. Other projects include hosting tastings, freelance copywriting, creating restaurant wine lists and running the Wine Bloggers Cup.
Congratulations on this very well-deserved win, Matt!
