The Wines of Germany world-celebrated campaign The 31 Days of German Riesling took the UK by storm this July. Together with over 250 wine bars, independent merchants, and restaurants we sent Riesling loving UK consumers into a frenzy! Oddbins and Waitrose stores around the country also took part by promoting their German Rieslings and hosting in-store tastings for their customers – fresh, crispy dry Rieslings have been flying off the shelves all July.
The #31DaysofGermanRiesling hashtag populated our social media channels as participants shared photos of their store displays and events. Wines of Germany also led a dedicated press office campaign which saw 31 Days events featured in titles such as DrinkUp London and Foodism, and broadcasted on national TV by Jane Parkinson on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. The Buyer’s Richard Siddle used 31 Days as an example of an advertising campaign which successfully connects with wine drinkers.
The record number of participants, our highest to date, and the positive response from press within and outside of the wine trade, proved that there is ample enthusiasm for German Riesling – Prost to German Riesling.
