German Wines come to Paris

The German Wine Institute (DWI) will be presenting a wide selection of German wines at the second edition of Vinexpo Paris, which will take place from 14th to 16th February 2022. It will be the first of the big European wine fairs to open its doors since lockdown measures were introduced in response to the corona pandemic.

The German wine area can be found in hall 5/2, booth no. FG 024, and it will be hosted by The German Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Alongside the German Wine Institute, four wine producers will be showcasing their products:

  • Deutsches Weintor
  • Weingut Riffel
  • Weinhaus Schlink
  • Weingut Martin Waßmer

The DWI invites visitors from around the globe to taste a wide range of German red, white, rosé and sparkling wines – and to discover many varieties beyond Riesling and Spätburgunder. Every day, wine experts and guests can join tastings including:

  • “German Wine: The Basics”
  • “Germany’s Dream Team: Riesling & Spätburgunder”
  • “Beware Fruit Bombs: Icewine & Co.”
  • “License to Sparkle: German Premium Sekt”
  • “SOLA Wines: Sustainable, Organic, Low Alcohol”.

The DWI is pleased to host Marc Almert, ASI Best Sommelier of the World. On Tuesday 15th and on Wednesday 16th, he will hold tutored tastings of German wines. In addition, Sina Erdrich, Germany’s Wine Queen, will be on hand throughout the fair to run tastings and share first-hand information about German wines.

The German Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s Social Media-Team will keep you updated on activities at the German Pavilions via Instagram.
