QbA (= Qualitätswein bestimmter Anbaugebiete)
Quality wine from one of the 13 specified winegrowing regions, often abbreviated as ”QbA”. Every Qualitätswein has to undergo an analytical and sensory evaluation, and the label then bears the official quality control test number. The grapes of a Qualitätswein must be 100 percent from the specified region. Other requirements for certification as QbA concern the minimum must weight and the natural sugar content of the grapes.
